Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has relaunched the Carbon Calculator tool, which measures the carbon footprint of Dubai’s hospitality sector as part of the Dubai Sustainable Tourism (DST) initiative. We chatted to The Business Breakfast at Dubai Eye 103.8 about how the tool works and how it can support the wider clean energy targets and the UAE Net Zero by 2050 Strategy.
This report centres on the benefits of coastal regeneration for countries in Africa, East Asia and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). All three regions have large coastal areas that support many livelihoods but are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
With COP27 fast approaching on 6 November in Egypt, we have examined the progress of climate action in the GCC, including climate challenges, implementation gaps and practical solutions for climate change adaptation going forward. the coronavirus pandemic and identifies the main factors that are likely to determine the direction of climate change policies and actions going forward, as the Gulf recovers from the economic devastation caused by the pandemic’s countermeasures.
