Earth Matters Consulting is established in the UAE under the Fujeirah Creative City Free Zone, and in the UK as Earth Matters International Ltd.
For over 15 years Tanzeed has promoted positive change on climate change, energy and environmental conservation across three continents within government, industry, businesses and communities.
Tanzeed has recently led the work on a major global sustainability prize, awarded by a leader of the MENA region, helping to develop Dubai’s Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. He also assisted the WWF UAE with a study understanding private sector engagement with a Sustainable Blue Economy in the UAE.
Previously, Tanzeed directed the WWF Climate Change, Energy, Sustainability and Policy work in the UAE and GCC region and was Science Policy Advisor for Energy & Climate Change at the UK’s independent scientific academy, the Royal Society.
Tanzeed has a post graduate MSc in Conservation from University College London and a BSc (Hons) in Zoology from the University of Edinburgh.
Paola is an environmental policy and strategy expert with 18 years of experience and proven ability to lead environmental initiatives in complex policy environments.
Her expertise is focused on formulating environmental proposals with solid scientific and technical basis, and high impact conservation results.
Her previous experience includes leading the Climate and Conservation team at Emirates Nature in association with WWF as well as key projects on energy efficiency and renewable energy in the UAE, and leading the development of Colombia’s National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP).
Paola is a Biologist and a Civil Engineer from Los Andes University in Colombia and a MSc. in Technology & Policy from MIT.
Florian is an environmental economist with over 15 years of experience in academia and consulting.
His areas of expertise include ecosystem services, non-market valuation using benefit transfer and discrete choice experiments, and environmentally-extended cost benefit analysis.
He has worked for international organisations national governments, conservation groups across the globe.
Florian has an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Economics from the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam.
Nadia has 10 years’ experience in social impact, sustainability, climate change and energy policy.
Most recently, Nadia was the Director of Sustainability and Social Impact at Careem. She was responsible for building Careem’s sustainability strategy and aligning it to the Sustainable Development Goals, the United Nations Global Compact and the UN Women Empowerment Principles.
Previously, Nadia worked on energy efficiency and climate change mitigation and adaptation policy with Emirates Nature-WWF. This included contributing to the UAE’s Climate Change Plan 2017-2050. Nadia also has held roles in the private sector leading in corporate social responsibility and consulting regional companies to develop sustainability strategies and GRI reports.
Nadia holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University in Canada and is nearing the completion of an MSc in Environmental Management at SOAS, University of London.
