Renewable energy desalination & global sustainability award

  • Preparing and editing a public report on renewable energy desalination programme. 

  • Creation of strategic internal reports on commercial deployment and how to secure future of the site as a water innovation park. 

  • Project manager to design and implement a major global sustainability prize. The prize awarded Small Medium Enterprises, Non Profit Organisations and High Schools for their efforts to improve peoples’ lives through energy, water, food and health solutions. Ultimate client was the office of the leadership of a major country in the MENA region. 


Dubai’s climate change adaption strategy

Developing Dubai’s climate change adaptation strategy, in collaboration with Acclimatise, Deltares and 5 Oceans Consulting. The strategy was approved by the Executive Council of Dubai in February 2019 and forms part of Dubai’s commitment to the global C40 Cities Network.

Our role was leading development of climate change risk and adaptation assessment for energy, food security and financial services for Dubai as well as local stakeholder engagement and capacity building. 

Ultimate client(s): Dubai Municipality and the Executive Council of Dubai.

Research, analysis & training

Completed research and analysis for a report (in press) ‘Engaging the Private Sector in a Sustainable Blue Economy for the UAE’. Conducted interviews with finance, tourism, shipping & ports and desalination sectors and organised and facilitated a workshop with participants on the sidelines of the World Oceans Summit in Abu Dhabi, March 2019.

Designing and delivering a climate change research and learning programme for fifty DEWA employees and university students.

Edited a major renewable energy report and a greenhouse gas inventory report for ‘the Sustainable City’, developed by Diamond Developers.


EDA Working paper

Co-authored a peer reviewed working paper: ‘Engaging Gulf Non-state and Subnational Actors in Implementing the Paris Agreement’.

The study puts forward a series of action-oriented recommendations for both GCC non-state and subnational actors and governments.
